Hello, just another plugin idea here. For a new block, well a couple actually.

When you place iron bars, fences, or other blocks with gaps in them in water they should turn into a new block that looks like what-ever you put into the water, but under water, and still has the effects of regular water. So water will flow out of it, through it or not flow at all if it's surrounded.

The purpose of this would be for sewers or even dams.

Could you also make it compatible with [gates] from Craftbook? For raise-able floodgates.

    Thank you in advance!

    Possibility
Make sure your request is even possible. Bukkit plugins can, for the most part, only modify what the server can do. Here is a list of things you cannot do with a plugin:

    • Create a new block or item.
    • Show a picture or video to a player (except maps or displayed in blocks)
    • Create a new creature or monster or change the size of an existing one
    • Check if a player has a texture pack, mod, or hack installed.
    • Play external sound. Can only trigger noteblocks, records and effects.
    • Move a player between servers (in a way that doesn't involve complicated proxying)
turn into a new blockthat looks like what-ever you put into the water, but under water, and still has the effects of regular water
I mean this a politely as possible, could you explain so I don't post anything similar, or impossible in the future?

Thank you for the fast reply

icedemond5 Minecraft isn't able to show two blocks at the same location. Bukkit is limited to minecraft so....
What you want would require client side modifications.

I see, but I'm not asking two blocks to be shown at the same time, I'm asking for the creation of a new block that is the texture of the block underwater, but with the same properties of a normal water source block. Sorry if i didn't make that clear enough

  6. As it says when they replied it is impossible to create a new block or item texture using Bukkit :'(

Not to be rude, but what was the point of that?

As stated above, you can't create a new block (change texture of existing one). So no need to request it.
If I miss understood you, please apologize.

icedemond5 I am not willing to do this. You also didn't mention a way of registering those blocks.
And I think that he is trying to say that you are saying things that speak against each other.

I am sorry. I misread that though it said things that were possible. I'm going back to reread it to freshen up as it has been a while. Thanks for your time.

Technically it is possible. You could just make it the normal block, but because it's under water just make it spawn flowing water beside it, as well as changing stuff to make it not disappear.
