Cross Server Chat

Suggested name: CrossChat

What I want: I'd like a plugin that allows players to chat across servers. I have a bungee server with CraftBukkit running on the servers. I want the plugin to allow players to chat across servers using a command. There can also be a toggle command to allow them to continuously chat across the servers.

Ideas for commands:

• /cc <message> - Allows them say a message to the other servers
• /cct - Toggles continuous cross server chat

Ideas for permissions:

• No permission required. Or:
• crosschat.chat - Allow cross server chat
• crosschat.toggle - Toggle continuous cross server chat

You could do this with a simple IRC channel and connect both servers to the IRC with http://dev.bukkit.org/bukkit-plugins/bukkit-irc-chat/

 

Rokinscom How would I go about this? I do not have an IRC server or any knowledge of making one.

 

I suggest using a service like grove.io. Once you sign up for this service connect it with the plugin stated above.

Although he is running a Bungee server this could also be used for two plain craftbukkit servers. For example user1 owns one server and and user2 owns the other. They want the server chat to be linked. I understand that Bungee isn't supported, but I am just trying to help out with the best of my knowledge daavko

 

Bungee is only one of the servers. That is what is used to connect the 3 CraftBukkit servers.

 

tmacfanmike Rokinscom I know what Bungee is. Also, I know it requires offline mode = false. (yes, it may have its own authentication, but that's not Mojangs' authentication). And offline mode = false is also not supported here.

 

It doesn't require online mode to be false... Most setups of servers are like that though. But not always. daavko

I don't think so? I tried connecting with a cracked client to see if they could get on and I was not able to connect.

 

timtower tmacfanmike You need false on the servers connected to the bungee server and they have bukkit but bukkit do not support offline servers. Bungee has authentication but the servers connected don't.

 

Locked. We do not support any servers with disabled authentication; that includes the host server and all of the connected servers. Bungeecord and Lilypad servers are not supported here for this very reason.
