Hehe.. not following until now, but still, you do not mention any time window at all.
Could be nice to hear an approx ETA. I'm not the one that will be the cause of your stress, I'm just currious about some kind of time or time to beta and awaits tense... :D

I'll hold migrating to iConomy 5.0 as well, people can now use the shops (as long I create them for them).
    Good to hear its coming!

does this plug support decimal amounts of money? (I want pennies -_-)

    MineralMC

I'm really not to eager to give even an approximate time scale, as that puts pressure upon the team to get things all ready and polished within a certain time limit, which will likely result in a buggy version that we'll spend even more time chasing up and patching...

    HOWEVER...

I am happy to report that we've just finished (literally, just now) pre-alpha testing, and that the core of the plugin is functioning as intended. We'll be performing an alpha test tomorrow morning, and if everything goes by without a hitch, releasing it to the admins who signed up for our internal beta.

Now please, please stop PMing me about a release date. We're working hard at it. :)

    Anything iConomy supports, LocalShops supports.
...and maybe even a little more.

This. I'd rather wait a month for something and get it at full value than get it tomorrow and it doesn't operate. Definitely enjoying the [617] version at the moment, can't wait for the updates! Thanks for your efforts :)

FUUUU why do all the good plugins use iConomy! I CANT USE MYSQL!!! D: anyone know of a similar plugin for BOSEconomy? :/

If you can't use MySQL then you shouldn't be running a server.

Figured I would make an appearance and give an update on LocalShops 3.0.0. Over the past few weeks after Mineral convinced me to help with LocalShops we've done quite a bit of work on mostly the internal code. I definitely need to thank @Jonbas for his work on LocalShops and his continued support!

With that said, some interesting new features/updates:
    • Multiple Economy Support
      • iConomy 4
      • iConomy 5
      • BOSEconomy (experimental)
      • Essentials Economy (experimental)
    • Improved pattern matching
      • Names of items and shops can now have spaces
      • Overall improved searching for items (multiple formats, id, id:subtype, name, name with spaces)
    • Lots of backend coding improvements!
      • Honestly, its hard to quantify this, but overall we hopefully will have an easier time supporting LocalShops and hopefully fewer bugs.
So now everyone is wondering about a release date, and it's pretty simple to determine it. When we can verify that existing users of LocalShops will be able to upgrade without issues to 3.0.0 and existing functionality is verified working we will then release 3.0.0. As of now, we have a number of Beta testers and hopefully before this weekend we will have a closed beta in progress! Want to help? We need servers running alternative economy plugins (BOSEconomy & Essentials Economy) so we can iron out potential bugs and get feedback about the whole process.

I'm along with everyone here that I'm excited and that I cannot wait for the release of LocalShops 3.0.0! I'm certain everyone will be happy with the improvements, but make sure to be patient with us (we all have life to worry about in addition to this plugin)!

you can shut up! I have a server that works just fine I would just like to have some plugins that make use of the SQL system! I can use SQLite but MySQL WON'T work for me! I have to actually go into the registry to remove some stuff... :/ MySQL actually crashes during the install! so don't tell me I can't run a server...

He's around but taking a break from writing code for LocalShops. Life got a bit overwhelming for him with all that he's got going on! He checks in every once in a while and see's what we've been up to.

@Devian50 No, you shouldn't be running a server. MySQL is pretty much a requirement in servers these days and it's not Oracle's fault that it doesn't work for you - it's your fault, millions of other servers including Google use it all the time and it's unmatched in it's performance and reliability.

Actually, in his defense, being able to do MySQL has nothing to do on whether or not you can run a good server. And instead of bashing him, help him through PM's or something. It took awhile for me to set it up on my test server, but I actually have no need for it on my dedicated server. He's just frustrated and needs help, like everyone does now and then.

@cereal Can definitely understand that, thanks for the info :)

@NotoriousPyro, @MeinerHosen, and @Devian50 take it to a different thread. MySQL is not relevant to this discussion.

Sorry if this has been said before, but when i first installed this it would tell me "iconomy not found" in the console upon world preparation, and then when buying something from shops it would say the same.
Then i uninstalled iconomy, and reinstalled, now whenever i try /shop create it tells me an internal error has occurred.

I would paste the error here, but i can't copy paste out of this console :'(

umm localshops isnt updated, if you READ THE FREAKIN POST, its CB 617, and iconomy 2.x - 4.x, so of course your going to have errors, just delete it and wait for 3.0 to come out

Seriously? The ONLY free time I had today was spent reading this message complaining about how LocalShops isn't updated. I've kindly decided to develop LocalShops in my free time (in case you were by any means thinking I somehow got paid to do so). You need to learn how to respect those who give up their time and donate it to the community for your benefit, and only to get complaints? Shame on you. Those who do things like this de-motivate developers.

Promise we're working on it! We have Alpha versions of the software and are awaiting responses from our testers! More news soon!
