If you want to stress test you should use something external that logs a bunch of bot-players in. Search around.
Yeah, it wasn't very wise to steal from a CraftBukkit developer. Here is the source: https://github.com/amaranth/PlayerSimulator Removed posts linking to an unofficial build.
source doesnt exist. there is one for 1.7.10 https://github.com/Puremin0rez/PlayerSimulator it was forked from the original. However i am unable to compile it. I get The container 'Maven Dependencies' references non existing library 'C:\Users\Adam Webb\.m2\repository\org\bukkit\craftbukkit\1.7.10-R0.1-SNAPSHOT\craftbukkit-1.7.10-R0.1-SNAPSHOT.jarwhen attempting to compile with eclipse. maybe someone would have luck.
Try to compile with maven? Edit: tried myself Can't compile because it uses CraftBukkit as dependency and it has been taken offline so compiling won't work...
got it compiled and the owner compiled the version himself however it has a major bug. when you try to spawn any bots it crashes the server. could possibly be because he and I removed the craftbukkit dependency string for it to compile.
You can get a plugin called pingutiles where you can edit how many players seem to be on your server, then you can create an npc (make it move around if you wish) and also get a custom tablist plugin and within the config in one of the tablist's cells add a random player name so that it appears that when someone pushes tab to see who is online they will think that person is online. I believe you can also edit /list within essentials config. I'm sure if you look hard enough you'll find individual plugins that can do everything you want all together. -field
