    Permissions 3.0
Rcjrrcjr has been working quite hard on this upgrade to Permissions. However, it currently still suffers from a number of bugs. The most important of these which directly affects HeroChat is the non-functioning of prefixes and suffixes. There are less-than-pretty workarounds, but I'm refraining from fully supporting an update until Permissions 3.1 is released which should include a number of significant bug fixes. When this does occur, however, I have a build ready for you guys that should work. You can download it here. Again, I highly suggest not using this until Permissions 3.1 is released unless you really don't care about prefixes and such.

See you when I get back!

Is your config resetting when you make changes?
If you make changes to the config while the server is running, you need to use the /ch reload command to make the changes stick. I wish this message wasn't necessary, but people only seem to read things in big, bold, red text (if at all).

Have a problem? a feature request? Go here.
HeroChat now has its very own redmine found here. If you have an issue or would like to suggest a new feature, I urge you to file it via redmine. I will be checking this much more often than this thread from here on out.

How it be really difficult for HeroChat to hook into Towny? That way I can create a channel for a town and for join permissions be able to put a town's name, so only residents of that town can join?

I know Towny has a town chat mode, but its extremely limited.

    Thank you.

While I don't plan on adding direct integration with Towny, I do plan on adding support for Lists, which will provide exactly what you want if Towny also picks it up in the future.

    imaxorz

That's really awesome. Even if Towny doesn't pick it up it can be very useful. I can just have the mayors be responsible for adding/removing players from their town's list.

    Thank you.

How the heck do you change colors for OP's, 'cause all op's names are in PINK / LIGHT_RED on my server and can't be overuled via Permissions-prefix :/

    I use McMyAdmin and Groupmanager.
It works but the [Tags] wont show up...

You're most likely seeing a feature of Essentials. It can be turned off in the Essentials config.

Can you clarify what you mean by tags? I'll also probably need your config to help you.

I've setup HeroChat to work with CraftIRC such that all CHAT messages are sent to one specific channel in HeroChat. This works just fine. However, join/part/quit/kick/nick messages are NOT sent to this HeroChat channel. Is there anyway to force them to appear only in that channel?

Also, I cannot seem to get chat message colors working for either IRC-to-Minecraft or Minecraft-to-IRC. Is this a limitation with HeroChat? For example, if someone in IRC had sent a chat message that contained one or more colored words, could that be colored for the CraftIRC/HeroChat message or will this not work?

  11. Offline

    Johnny Lunder

You were of course absolutely correct, thanks a million ;)
The reason I did not think about it was due to using ColorMe before which overrides Essentials' colors ;)

    DThielke

Set join-messages to true under the appropriate channel in the config. This will cover players joining and leaving the channel, but it doesn't include nick changes.

This is a limitation of CraftIRC. It does not parse MC color codes into IRC codes and the messages it sends to HeroChat include no color information.

Any idea if this plugin is working with Recommended build 733 (1.5) yet?

  14. My config.yml keeps being reset to the default template. So I have to write the config in a temporary file, overwrite config.yml, reload :p

    Didn't see it reported yet.

I have tested this with build 733 very briefly on my test server and got a nasty bit of errors. Not sure what they mean (unless it's complete incompatibility lol) so I will post them here. Keep in mind this is a fresh install, with only a few other plugins.

Seems like it's not working for recommended build yet.
If I type /ch list only
    List of channels:
appears. I joined all the channels, but none are shown. And you cannot switch your channel anymore. So I'm gonna wait till it's updated for #733

Can you explain this process more?

This issue has been brought up multiple times. If you make changes while the server is live, you need to do a /ch reload to push the changes to the server.

HeroChat has been tested and works fine with 733. Looking at your error, I see that multiple plugins are having issues related to Permissions. Make sure you're using the latest version of Permissions and all your other plugins as well.

Again, it's been tested and works fine on CB 733. If you're getting errors, post them.

Thanks alot btw, it was my own mistake as you said. I was having issues with LWC and permissions as well and the plugin dev there said I should reinstall permissions so I did so and rebuilt my permissions world file as well. Problem solved. THANKS!

What should it look like when you are adding the IRC channels to the list? cause after I added them it just breaks. This is how it looks on mine:

    Code:
    craftIRC:
                game-to-IRC:
                - MCA
                - MC
                IRC-to-game:
                - MCA
                - MC
Nevermind that one, I got it to post to the IRC now. But now the IRC isn't talking to the game.

I did just like the setup said, I disabled all of CraftIRC's commands, so its not talking to the server, all its doing is creating the connection to the channels. So I can see the chats in the different channels in the proper IRC channels. But its not getting pulled back down. Whats wrong?

Could you pastie.org your full HeroChat and CraftIRC configs? Make sure to remove any passwords and such before posting the latter.

@Phat32, CraftIRC tags are case-sensitive. In your CraftIRC config, you use all lowercase tags, while in your HeroChat config, you use all uppercase tags (ie. mca vs MCA). Change them to match.

@everyone else, the download link is working again. My host was having momentary issues - apologies for the inconvenience.

In the wiki, it doesn't list this, so forgive me if this was already answered.

Does the Message Format support group names rather than prefix/suffix? I use McMyAdmin which doesn't support prefix/suffix. So whenever I manually write in the prefix/suffix, they are overwritten by McMyAdmin at restart/permission change.

Use the {group} tag. It was added a while back, but I guess I forgot to add it to the wiki.
