    i know now how i get my error...
    i have delete this part in the config:

    motd:
    - '&cWelcome, {PLAYER}!'
    - '&fType &c/help&f for a list of commands.'
    rules:
    - '[1] Be respectful'
    - '[2] Be ethical'
    - '[3] Use common sense'

    I use the motd in Generals. Can i turn off motd and rules in Essentials?

    Here's the updated one: http://pastebin.com/YgNiJ5jt

    Chest protections now work, but the essential plugin doesn't still :\

    Do you get a permissions error, or anything in console? Does it work if you're in the default class? just verifying that essentials is loading. I have a similar setup and its working good (since 1.9 permissions anyway)

    M1sT3rM4n

    It works for default users, but no error in the console, just says that they don't have enough access privileges (VIPs)

    Ok, so its permissions..
    http://pastebin.com/k0aRGMi4

    Thats the first 2 groups of my setup. Make sure you have all spaces, no tabs. Make sure there is no spaces after the last ' for each permission. Its very finicky unfortunately like that. We know its partially working at least since /lwc is working for upper groups.

    Well seems as if I fixed it, as I had a typo in my kit xD

    Forgive me if this has been requested already or if it is incorporated into another command. (I am starting to fall behind with all the changes!)

    Can you add a /compass command for telling which direction you are facing? (I could have sworn there was one at one time but it might have been in the General plugin.)

    Thanks.

    Is it possible to get a /help command Config kinda like what generals had so users can add there own entery's into the help list or have it auto detect the commands available to you using the "Permissions" plug-on

    @Nate204 Great idea. I'll implement that as soon as Bukkit adds death notifications, which it's pretty close to finishing.

    @godsyn Fixed.

    @kenny You should ask about Permissions configuration in the Permissions thread; you will receive better support.

    @Dspirit Looking into that.

    @d3x Fixed.

    @godsyn It should still respect the node, if it exists. (essentials.msg)

    @ledhead900 Added to my todo list

    @Eris I'll get you added ASAP.

    @Karsten Fixed.

    @Adondriel You have an invalid download. Try downloading it again.

    @ledhead900 I can do the /helpop thing, don't worry, ;)

    @kenny You are able to do /setspawn, you just don't receive feedback. You have your permissions configured incorrectly. Install Permissions.

    @byoungtgs Fixed.

    @seriosbrad It wasn't a bug with nicknames, so it was still happening. Fixed. The node is "essentials.msg"

    @godsyn Thanks for telling everyone about essentials.msg :)

    @M1sT3rM4n They don't provide feedback, but they do work. No auto-kick-on-ban yet.

    @An0nx In Essentials' config.yml file: "disable-motd: true"

    @Direct1221 Thanks, looking into that. That is an expected error: it should not make it to the console.

    @Jigabot /essentials after changing the config.yml file

    @ledhead900 I added /essentials, which is a bit safer. :)

    @seriosbrad Essentials is meant to yield to specialized plugins. See my previous response.

    @overlordnikon Autorun? What's that? :eek:

    @Jigabot Yeah, /essentials is what you want--much safer.

    @Deages You have Permissions installed. You need to set your permissions there.

    @Daworm @ledhead900 @godsyn @fffizzz and countless others: Thanks for helping while I was away; I really appreciate it. :)

    @Beatkidz Added to my todo list.

    @lawina I'll look into it again.

    @drampelt Added to my todo list.

    @19michael95 There is something seriously wrong with your JVM. Try reinstalling Java.

    @fffizzz Added to my todo list.

    @horsedrowner /essentials and fixed.

    @raz235 There is no such thing as infinity. A -1 stack is just a stack of 255. You can try specifying 255, but I don't know if it will work.

    @M1sT3rM4n Sounds like a bug with Permissions. Let @Nijikokun know, and she'll have some advice, I'm sure.

    @Incendia getsatisfaction? Lol

    @Sneedlwoods Your config.yml file is corrupt or improperly formatted. Edit: Glad you figured it out! Add "disable-motd: true" to config.yml.

    @ledhead900 @FlayaN Working on it, but in the meantime, try MCDocs

    Appreciate all your hard work on this fantastic plugin!

    With regards to the disallowed to spawn list, perhaps even take it one step further, and make it so we can limit what groups can spawn what items. This alone would take your plugin to the top of the essentials :)

    ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
    I also thank!
    Going to disagree with the extra stuff in the above post tho as worldguard does a very good job of guarding the server this plugin has its place dont really think we need to bulk it with things like that. If you did do that maybe a optional addon for it or something like a new plugin called essentialsextras or something.

    hey :)
    i have now set "disable-motd: true" in config...
    the motd comes again if a user join the server. i will turn off essentials motd completely

    "disable-motd: true" let users do not show the motd again, but it comes if a user join the server... why?

    8 bugs:

    typing /mail returns an extra ] in the end of the message

    /help shows commands even when the user cant use them

    /help always says "type /help x to see next page" even when it says "---last page---" at bottom

    when looking at the page after the last page, it shows only the last command and "---last page---" again

    looking at pages after that returns empty except "type /help x to see next page"

    typing /help 2147483647 returns "type /help -2147483648 to see next page"

    you can type numbers that are smaller than 1 after /help, typing a - before number

    you can type a + before number in /help, treats it as a normal positive number

    a suggestion:

    instead of /give [player] [item] <amount>, do [item] <amount> <player> (no typing a player will give to your self the items)

    Ok...moved up to 74 today and the nickname problem is still there. I'm the only person on the server with /nick and when I give a new nickname to a player they lose it if they log off and back on. If I log off and back on I then have the nickname that I gave them. The same is true of most information that Essentials stores. First player to log on after a restart is the only one shown with {PLAYER} on the motd's welcome message. This wouldn't be a problem except I have to hand out nicknames every time a player logs on and remember to either '/nick off' as soon as I log in or give myself a nickname before I log off so that it'll be the right one when I log on. Also I'm getting a "No such player exists, please enter a valid name" error with EVERY command I issue across the game. Dunno what plugin is creating that though. Still testing.

    Okay, lot of requests and bug reports! I just rewrote the entire plugin a few builds ago to organize it a bit better, so bugs are inevitable. I'll get them all sorted out ASAP! Let's start with this:

    75:
    - Fixed regression: added aliases: /i /g /tell /m /whisper /playerlist /who /online
    - Fixed bug whereby most "cost-" nodes needed the command to be prefixed with a slash ("cost-/getpos")
    - Ops can now have negative balances
    - Fixed: previously forgot to listen for /essentials
    - Fixed yaw/pitch label
    - Players with permission "essentials.helpop.receive" will receive helpop requests, een if not ops
    - Users without permission to use /motd will not see the MotD

    @necrodoom Thanks for all the subtleties! Most are on purpose: I caused a lot of controversy for replacing specialized plugins, so I'm trying to keep /help simplistic. MCDocs is for more powerful /help features. The extra "]" isn't actually extra: take a closer look at the syntax. I can't believe you actually looked up the max size of a 32-bit integer just to test the plugin, lol; I feel honored :)

    @Eris You have been added to the project under the permission level Software Developer. :D

    By the way, I think you forgot to add the essentials.rules node to the first post. I had to add it myself so users can read the server rules by typing /rules.
