Related to this, I give certain groups a special color in chat. How do I make this color show up in /list? It's already red for admins, is there any way I can make it a special color for other groups too?

Essentials also appears to be messing with WorldGuard. I cant turn god mode off even using WorldGuards /ungod - I still cant die. Which is a bit of a PITA. Is there no way I can disable features of essentials.
Such as /money /god - As these are not wanted.

Huge fan of essentials, it's always the first plugin to be updated on our server... but I really have to question the logic of hijacking the iconomy commands? Bloody ridiculous idea. I don't think I've ever seen a server using EssentialsEco as there is no extra support for it. FIX THIS PLEASE.

there is no group admin only admins

and if you would be group default and are not ops you should have no rights

Can I ask what you mean by hijacking? Is there some kind of list that assigns commands to plugins?

    Don Redhorse

hi, you need to edit the plugin.yml inside the jar file and remove the commands which interfere.. would be nice if somebody would write something more detailed about it.

When Minecraft 1.5 is out please add a command like: /weather snow or /weather rain would be very cool! :D

Here is a version of Essentials (complete package) that works with 677 AND iConomy. I run it on my server and everything works as it should as far as I can tell!

    Essentials-iConomy-677.zip
    Version: 2.1.25
    Release Date: April 8th, 2011

Also I did submit a ticket to the team yesterday, so hopefully they will fix this issue.

And here is a modified Essentials.jar that has had the following commands commented out of plugin.yml: /balance, /bal, /money, /eco, /economy, /pay, /sell, and /worth. Working Essentials 2.1.33 with iconomy 4.6.5 and cb677. Make sure to delete or rename Essentials.jar

How do I use mcbans alongside Essentials?

    Thanks Don, I changed it.

I am not oped and I am in the group default and I still have all those commands. I am thinking it is maybe because I do not have the latest CB? Can someone direct me to where I can check to see which version I have and how to update CB? Unless we just download it, change the name (craftbukkit.jar), and then replace the previous cb?

Edit: Sorry, forgot to mention this, I run a Macbook with Mac OS X

Edit(2): Alright I got the permission to work on default so that Default does not get any commands. This happens if the user is not oped and not under any other group.

This should be the way it works?

The way I got default to work was by taking out the Permissions.jar out of the Permissions-bin folder [is it supposed to be a permissions-bin folder?]

When I did that (move the .jar out of the Permissions-bin folder and into the plugins folder [all of this is happening in the plugins folder]) a PermissionsNew World-.yml document and a Permissions folder was created.

I am not sure if I installed permission wrong but that is what happened.

New World- is the name of my world.

now the problem is that I cannot my other groups are not working. Every group has every command.

Is this a permissions problem or an essentials problem? Because if I am asking in the wrong forum... that sucks >.<

    Edit(3):

Bloody hell. I just renamed my world by accident and now it isn't the same world. Is there a way to recover my old world? I haven't backed it up since it is fairly new...

    Works great!

get the latest craftbukkit here http://ci.bukkit.org/job/dev-CraftBukkit/677/
copy your permissionsfile here so we can look to it.

HELPFUL HINT : For anyone that wants to use Essentials and iConomy. The Essentials Eco hijakcs iConomy commands. To fix this, close your server down, open the Essentials.jar in your plugins folder with WinRar or another archive program. Open the plugin.yml file, search for "aliases: [bal, money]", and delete the ", money" part. Save file, and then update archive if it asks. And restart server, iConomy commands should work now.

Is there no way you could make a config file where we can manually choose which parts of Essentials we want? So we can de-activate certain functions we don't need.
Essentials is great, but some of the stuff is just too much and we don't always need all of it. :)

Hi i have a Problem with chatradius

    # If EssentialsChat is installed, this will define how far a player's voice travels, in blocks. Set to 0 to make all chat global.
    # Note that users with the "essentials.chat.spy" permission will hear everything, regardless of this setting.
    # Users with essentials.chat.shout can override this by prefixing text with an exclamation mark (!)
    # Or with essentials.chat.question can override this by prefixing text with a question mark (?)
    chat:
    radius: 6

    i have set the permissions:
    • essentials.chat.shout This allows you to send global messages. Default chat is local which is set in the config.yml file as chat-radius.
    • essentials.chat.question This allows you to send global qeustions. Default chat is local which is set in the config.yml file as chat-radius.
but i can hear all players all over the world.
and i have no other plugin for the chat

Is there a way to prevent other people from building portals ? I want to build one central nether portal and one exit portal. The only permission i found was for using the Portals :(

  29. Offline

    olloth

You are much better off using a different mod to manage your nether. I suggest Multiverse or a similar mod, where you can limit permissions for all of the individual parts of it. (Be careful, once you pick a nether mod you basically better keep it because the portals lining up doesn't really carry well across all the different mods)
