    Multiverse 2 - World Creation/Management/Teleportation & More
    Current Version: 2.2-AB

    Description
Multiverse 2 is a ground up rewrite of the popular Multiverse plugin for CraftBukkit. There are many new features, the biggest one being the much better usability and cleaner code! MV2 has been in the works for over 2 months and given the size of it, the developers are confident that you'll find a small bug or two. Please come into our IRC channel and discuss politely with us and we'll get it resolved quick-fastly!

Looking for the old version that runs on CraftBukkit 1000? We don't have it anymore :( Here's an archive of the old help post. If you're a new user, we REALLY recommend using Multiverse 2..

    The Multiverse Team:
    Developers:
@Rigby90 - The Multiverse God. 'nuff said
    @fernferret - Coding Person. Don't ask him about P2/P3 or Error 199.
@lithium3141 - Utility coder or crazy math dude. You decide.
@main-- - Is this his forum account? Localization person and MV-Adventure dev!

    Documenters:
    @Elizacat
    @AkiTensai
    @Xanipher

Testers (official I know a bunch of you have helped, thanks!):

    • PermissionsBukkit support (Anything that implements the superperms api (PermBukkit, PEX, bPerms...)
    • iConomy, BOSEconomy, RealEcon, Essentials Econ and Item economy support!
    • Show which users are in what worlds
    • Create portals to let users go between worlds
    • Control who can enter worlds/portals with permissions!
    • World scaling with NetherPortals
    • Allow minecarts/boats through portals
    • Launch users through the air when they enter a portal!
    • Conserve memory by having some worlds NOT keep their spawn chunks loaded!

    • The plugin should now support any custom Environment/Biomes which are added to CraftBukkit in the future without an update from Multiverse.
    • Fixed the 'Kick on Teleport' issue.
    Version 1.6.4

    • Fixed 0 Price Portals
    • Fixed a bug with new Portals
    • Updated for iConomy 5 (You will need to update to iCo 5)
    • Improved the PVP Setup
      • Now you no longer have to set the server.properties PVP variable to true... this is now completely done via the worlds config and properly stops PVP rather than preventing the damage from being applied.
    Version 1.6.3

    • Update for Minecraft 1.5 and CraftBukkit build 733
    Version 1.6.2

    • Contains updates/features which were introduced in 1.5
Version 1.6 - Thanks to 'fernferret'

    • Updated for CB Builds 600+
    Version 1.5 - Permissions 2.1+ - (V1.5 - 02/03/2011)[/U]

    • Fixed whitelist/blacklisting once and for all :), thanks to @ledhead900
    • Add permission node 'multiverse.portal.exempt' -- Basically means they don't have to pay the cost of the portal... this is useful for Donors and such.
    • Updated to use iConomy 4.1 -- Would be great if I can get feedback on this... as usual I can only test solo.
    Version 1.4 - Permissions 2.0 & 2.1 - (V1.4 - 26/02/2011 - 01:11 AM GMT)

    • Should be easier on high pop servers now
      • Only checks if a player is within a Portal everytime he changes BLOCK Coordinate instead of every single pixel footstep he/she takes.
    • Now Supports Permissions 2.1 -- Both 2.1 and 2.0 support have seperate JARs, so get the right one.
      • Also commands are properly disabled when a Permissions plugin is not found and it will alert the player trying to use the Command.
    Version 1.3 - Permissions 2.0 - (V1.3 - 24/02/2011 - 02:31 AM GMT)

    • Removed the 'Stupidly Long Constructor'
    • Fixed an error which was loading portals that were on a non existent world which caused errors later on.
    Version 1.2.2 - (V1.2.2 - 23/02/2011 - 03:05 AM GMT)

    • Nothing much just updated so it works with Minecraft Beta 1.3, I suggest you don't use a lower Multiverse build than v1.2.2 otherwise it won't work and errors will occur.
    Version 1.2.1 - (V1.2.1 - 20/02/2011 - 23:35 PM GMT)

    • Changed over to the new Entity Damage...

It says it linked the portals or to the spawn, no errors occur, I am the admin, but I still cannot get thru the portal.

Fantastic plug-in, I'm using it on my little server, which im hoping to open publically soon.
But maybe you could make it possible to open portals on different types of blocks for effect, like glowstone?

  12. What do you mean by built in? I have MV, Essentials and Permissions running in harmony.

When you setup the portal you have to link it to another portal rather than the world, using the p:pORTALNAME syntax, rather than w:WORLD

Sure can. You can make portals out of whatever you want.

Dunno, I'm gonna go with most likely not, as Bukkit will be getting it's own Built-In permissions in the future, also If I remember that plugin is way out of date by the original author...

    Please:
    A. Use PasteBin for huge segments
    B. Upgrade your CB to the latest, 670

I posted this in MagicCarpet, but though i'd post here as well.

    say you have multiple worlds
    survival/creative/hell
you let people use magic carpet in creative but not the others. Is there a way to make it so using magic carpet doesnt persist on world change?

  14. Offline

    _LB

That'd be a question for the developer of Magic Carpet. Android would have to recheck permissions on world change.

So for example i would do /mvps NetherPortal
then /mvpd p:WorldPortal (thats the name of portal in nether)

Okay, here's a weird one. I can go from one normal world to a second normal world and back fine. When I add a 3rd world (nether) I can go to it also, but when I come back the nether sounds (and occasionally creatures) come with me. The only way to get rid of them is restart the server.

Maybe i am just stupid but should'nt my server load all my worlds when i start it? Because it dont:)

I am having trouble with portals.
When I, an admin with '*' permissions, go through a portal, it takes me to the nether, which is how I like it.
When a lower ranked player goes through, they don't go anywhere at all, I want them to go to the nether.
This is most likely a permission that I don't know about, can anyone tell me the node?

I still can't get that beautiful portal texture to fill in the portal space...WorldEdit doesn't work, VoxelSniper doesn't work either...if it could be added as part of v2.0 that would be sweet...and if you have already stated that it will be, my apologies.

actually it isn't it. i had to look for quite some time to find out i needed a wooden pickaxe to set the 2 points and create an invisible portal which doesn't show up or anything u just have to make your own nether portal where your created one is

I don't know if there's another plug-in that does this, but if there isnt, I have an idea for you to add...
Maybe allow an option to separate inventories between the two worlds? I have a world that is very economy-based and civilized, and then also want to build an RPG world. The problem is that people have been taking over items to give themselves a MAJOR head start on building projects.

Or make a portal out of a hole in the ground filled with lava. Or make a portal from a pool of water. Or make a small room with the whole inside area being a portal that transports to a stadium world. This is MultiVerse, not just Nether :)

Is there a way to make it so portals don't allow people to take items between worlds?

  27. Offline

    Celtic Minstrel

This isn't generally true. Most plugins with a time command support multiple worlds; at the very least the time command will set the time in the current world (whichever that happens to be).

  28. MultiInv.

I see where you're coming from, and there are 2 sides to this:
Side A: As an admin you want to be up and running fast, so all commands should be clearly labeled and in the OP.
Side B: As a plugin dev it's really hard to remember what you did and didn't put in the OP, where it is and how its organized.

The First Post solution for instructions really does not work for a lot of the more complex plugins (Such as MultiVerse), so i'll see about starting the wiki page on bukkit.org for this plugin. The issue here is that the 2 (First Post and Wiki) can get out of sync really easy, or one could contain information the other does not.

Just remember the First Post solution is temporary until Fill is done :)
