Ok, a while ago I posted about the vertical lines, that seemed to reach across the whole world.

Well, they are back.... This time it is a new map, different physical hardware, server, plugins and CraftBukkit version.

This is very annoying. It stretch across the land in perfect vertical lines that seem evenly spaced, but each one is not the same length. They are blocks removed across the whole map, that forms these lines. But they seem to dig under mountains and hills, and not remove the whole thing, almost like a person or hack did this.

You would think this is world corruption, but wouldn't it just lose chunks, instead of making PERFECT vertical lines, and evenly spaced.

Has ANYONE experienced this or know why?

About a week ago my dynmap was showing the exact same 'symptoms'. That's about all I can say since we switched maps for 1.4 and dropped dynmap shortly afterwards.

Did the lines end up being in the game world too or only on the DynMap?

They were in-game as well, some WorldEdit 'ing fixed most of it that affected player's builds but there was still a lot left over in uninhabited regions.

Aliens. The minecraft equivalent of crop circles, I'd say!

Thanks, that is good to know that it is not something wrong with my server.

I think I found out the problem though. I fixed water at 1000 radius a few times. As you can see, most of the lines are by water, in or have water in the lines. So my guess would be the world edit //fixwater.

I've had this exact same issue, and everything I've been reading points to WorldEdit. I used the //fixwater command a few times myself, and it seems that the lines are somewhat in the same areas where I used the command, but they're not everywhere I used the command. First pic is from our old map, part of why we recently did a map wipe. Second pic is today, 2 days after our map wipe.

I submitted an urgent bug report on the WorldEdit bukkitdev tracker, but the problem might get solved faster if everyone who's having this issue went there and put down any information they can about the problem.
