I won't port LogBlock myself to mcAPI. Source code is available, so it shouldn't be to difficult for someone else to do it, also I'm still here. so I can answer questions. If there is more than one willing, that's up to you to handle that.

The reasons I take this step, are the usual: I quit playing Minecraft about 5 months ago and lastly I was struggling to keep up with updates. The developement of Guardian made slow progress, so I fear it won't be ready to fully replace LB in time.

    Description:

LogBlock logs block changes into a MySQL database. Block changes can be placed or destroyed block, explosions, burned blocks, sign text changes, chest access, leaves decay etc.
It can be used as griefer identification tool, to find out who build a particular building, or even roll back changes by certain players. Other purposes can be e.g: Undoing of forest fires
All additional features are optional, to keep the database as short as possible. All database actions run in their own threads to avoid server lags.
The use of permissions plugin (or any clone) is possible, but not necessary.
Uses Spout for chest logging (but it's fully optional, and there is no need for the client mod at all).

    Features:
    • Logging for block placing, block braking, fire, explosions, leaves decay, signtexts, lava flow and chest content
    • Very mighty commands system, not only allowing to rollback and redo, but also to tp to blockchanges, delete log ingame etc. Full list of commands.
    • Many parameters for lookup/rollback/redo/tp/clearlog commands: Block changes of one ore more player, in a specific area, in a world edit selection, specific block types only, block changes older or newer that a specific date, destroyed/created block only, in a different world and combinations of all these parameters. Full list of parameters.
    • Rebuilding map after importing a backup (/lb redo)
    • Last parameter to use the parameters of the last command
    • Quick ingame lookup of block history a wood pickaxe or a bedrock block.
    • All commands accessible from console (exept tools :D)
    • Custom queries for tools.
    • Different tool modes (lookup, rollback, redo, writelogfile and clearlog)
    • Saves block data like wool color, log type, torch adjustment, etc
    • Multiworld and multiserver support (some servers sharing the same database)
    • BigBrother log import
    • Loggable super pickaxe plugin (not to confuse with WorldEdit's super pickaxe)
    • API
    • Webstats
    Why to use LogBlock:

Example commands: (thanks to tha d0ctor, read more about commands here)

/lb rollback player fire since 1d3h – rolls back fire 1 day 3 hours
/lb rollback player fire since 1d3h area 15 – rolls back fire 1 day 3 hours within a radius of 15 blocks

    /lb rollback player thad0ctor since 1h - rolls back thad0ctor 1 hour
/lb rollback player thad0ctor since 1d area 5 – rolls back thad0ctor actions for the last day within 5 blocks
/lb rollback area 10 since 1h30m - rolls back all modifications within 10 blocks since the list 1 hours and 30 mins
/lb rollback area 10 before 06.11.2011 - roll back all changes in an area of 1o before June 11th, 2011
/lb rollback player thad0ctor since 05:36:00 - roll back all changes of thad0ctor since 05:36 (server time)

    How to post error messages:

I won't aswer questions to general MySQL setup/installation/what is MySQL (there are lots of good tutorials out there, use google)
Please read the installation guide before asking a question about installation problems.
Please read the FAQ before posting a error report. It may be solved there.
In case of rollback or lookup problems: Type /lb savequeue and try again (when it's fixed then, it was a consumer problem, see FAQ)
When you post error messages, it's important to paste the whole stack trace!

Hm, I'll look if it's possible.

For me I don't want it so much for in-game, rather just in the database so it can be used by the web interface i have made. We only need it to log when a player kills another player - ideally it would log who killed the person too.

Anybody feel like updating bb-lb converterv2.sql for the new big brother data format?

    DiddiZ

hm, I could add a table -kill with playerid, killerid, playerid, weapon.
Columns are selfexplaining, weapon would be the itemtypeid (0 no weapon).
on suicide killer could be null or environment or specified (drowning, falling etc)
Since this doesn't appear in normal log output, this table would be fully optional.
This could optional support killed mobs (mobs killed by players?).
btw, I'm interested to see your web interface :D
BB has a new data format?
If you mean the playerid column, I fixed this today.
    BB copies my table layout:p

It would be a bit easier on the interface end to work with the data in the already-existing table, but if it's easier for you to just split that out to a new table, that's just fine too. The important thing for me is that the date/time stamps are in the same format as the rest of the data so it can be compared. :)

Another reason I want this is for stats. Who killed the most creepers, who has the highest kill/death ratio with respect to other players, etc. It'd be easy to run some queries and gather such statistics. In this sense, it would be nicer if this sort of data was split out to a different table, in the interest of reducing query times.

Where can i create a Mysql database? This plugin sounds very nice!

    DiddiZ

    Forgot the date column :D
A players death would be able to fit in the current tables, but the killer wouldn't. And to know the weapon wouldn't be a loss :D
Some indexes would also speed up the queries, we've to talk about this. I don't know your queries :D. Contact me at skype, if possible.
The mysql website would be a good start. There is a tutorial.

I mean that there's now a bbusers table with user names, and I don't see your .SQL doing anything with that.

    Released v0.11
    Most imporant: Added "/lb redo"
Bad news: I delayed the new commands system once more. But it will come. With custom commands!
The queue is now saved at server shutdown.
    Some intern changes.
    Two new config entries.

That works. I don't use bbusers, I can't. The ids are different from lb-players, so I still join on the names.

    All i have in lib/ is mysql-connector-java-bin.jar, h2.jar, linux-x86.lib, mysql.jar, sqlite.jar

I'm assuming some of those other ones are for another plugin.

Even when letting it download by itself, I still get

    19:19:08 [INFO] [LogBlock] Downloading mysql-connector-java-bin.jar ...
19:19:09 [SEVERE] [LogBlock] Exception while enabling
    java.lang.ClassNotFoundException: com.mysql.jdbc.Driver

Bukkit doesn't provides the nessessary hooks, so even BB should can do that atm.
I'm escaping spaces with %20. I'll ask, if this is a problem.
Yes, waaay to slow. And needs to rewrite lots of statements. I don't exclude future sqlite support, but it's unlikely.

Huh? I'll come to your irc.

I have not actually used BigBrother as it is still not stable on latest 617 Bukkit so I just started off with LogBlock. But from what I read, BigBrother lets you have an argument "Environment". Not trying say one plugin is better than the other, I was just wondering if it possible to revert those changes in your plugin. Will still be using LogBlock over BB as BB has been reported to cause a lot of lag and I am way too lazy to switch them out.

    Great :D

From what I read in the source code lava flow could be meant.
I'll add that to the todo list, since it's a good feature :D

    I don't follow at all.
    Ok.
Tell me where I'm going wrong here:
    A) your mod does not import BB data directly via MySQL
    B) you need the SQL "script" to do it
    C) the BB format changed, so bbdata no longer lists player names
    D) you can thus convert player number IDs and store them as names in lb-players, but not get names, as those are in bbusers and you don't access that at all
    E) you can't get the correct names into lb-players

    did I miss something?

    Ok, Just a few things.
Maybe I've missed them~ If I have, please shut me down :p

Is there anything like the bigbrother log? aka~ you place the block "log" in the place of a missing block, and it tells you what was there? I think I need to place a block now, and then use my tool to see what was there before.

Is there a full rollback feature? Right now, a player rollback removes edits for the past 30 minutes. I guess I could change the config to something like 7 days (in minutes) to get around it for now.

Oh, and I don't think my database has loaded correctly? When I make edits, It logs them. I then go to my database that I created for logblock...... and it has no tables inside. I double checked my config file~ but it checks out. I have NO CLUE what's going on, or how it's even working.....?

    Suggestion:
Could the block history show up with the most recent changes at the bottom? I'd rather have older entries truncated than newer ones.
