    Permissions 3.0
Rcjrrcjr has been working quite hard on this upgrade to Permissions. However, it currently still suffers from a number of bugs. The most important of these which directly affects HeroChat is the non-functioning of prefixes and suffixes. There are less-than-pretty workarounds, but I'm refraining from fully supporting an update until Permissions 3.1 is released which should include a number of significant bug fixes. When this does occur, however, I have a build ready for you guys that should work. You can download it here. Again, I highly suggest not using this until Permissions 3.1 is released unless you really don't care about prefixes and such.

See you when I get back!

Is your config resetting when you make changes?
If you make changes to the config while the server is running, you need to use the /ch reload command to make the changes stick. I wish this message wasn't necessary, but people only seem to read things in big, bold, red text (if at all).

Have a problem? a feature request? Go here.
HeroChat now has its very own redmine found here. If you have an issue or would like to suggest a new feature, I urge you to file it via redmine. I will be checking this much more often than this thread from here on out.

If I'm understanding correctly, then you can accomplish what you want by just adding "WorldA" to Channel A's worlds: list and "WorldB" to Channel B's worlds: list.

I see, I was trying to restrict it with permissions. Would I be able to see another worlds chat as a admin if it is set to a world and "cross-world-chat: false"?

No, but everything would still be logged to console.

Is there any way you could get this working with Prefixer?

Has HeroChat been updated to work with Beta 1.4 yet?

  8. Offline

    DThielke

It would have to work the other way around - Prefixer would need to provide support for HeroChat.

What? HeroChat.https://github.com/downloads/Herocraft/HeroChat/HeroChat.jar - that link points to nothing BUT a jar.

Yes, as indicated by the [612] in the thread title.

The update is great but irc formatting is all screwy. If I set
    craftIRC-message-format: '{color}[{nick}] &f{prefix}{player}{suffix}{color}: '

the message comes out like this: §f[g] §f§c[OP]§fTeffen§f: test

    Any suggestions?

Those {color} tags aren't meant for IRC, as terminals don't interpret colors in the same way (those §f's are in-game colors). If you get rid of those tags, however, you'll still have the color that's part of your prefix. This is something I'll fix for the next update. Removing the {color} tags should at least reduce it down to [g] §f§c[OP]Teffen: test. To get rid of that other §f, for now, you'd have to strip it from your general message format.

You can't use the ! to decide where messages go, but you can set local to the default channel and let your users use /g message to send to global.

@Fob_Upset, your configs work fine on my end. Are you seeing any errors? Can you also post a start-up server log?

@Fob_Upset, start by updating HeroChat and disabling EssentialsChat and see if the error persists.

@airwalked, none of those errors have anything to do with HeroChat - bring them to the GroupManager thread.

Looks like the 4.8.6 release is using .version instead of getVersion() which is causing it to blow up :(

What version of Permissions are you using? The latest version (and all predecessors that I've used) still has this static field. Regardless, I'll handle it differently in the next update.

Right now, groups are not autojoining things that we tell them to, example i have autojoin set for our admin group but its not autojoining.

    DThielke

Auto-joins only occur the first time a player logs into your server (more generally, whenever they don't have a user file stored). Are you sure it's not working for new users?

Hi there! Great plugin. However, we seem to have some issues with it.
We're about to update from 2.7.2-ish to latest version, but we're getting an error whenever someone sends a chat message. There are no incompatbility issues, as we have tried only running with HeroChat.

As far as I can tell, there are no configuration changes required to update from that version, and from the error report, that does not seem to have anything to do with it either. I've tried to do run with vanilla-config, just to confirm that it does not have anything to do with that, but still no luck.

    We're using CraftBukkit #617, Permissions 2.5.5 (TheYeti's fork) and HeroChat 4.8.6.

Here is the error report: http://pastie.org/1751239

EDIT: On a second thought, considering the error comes from using valueOf(), it may very well have something do to with the configuration. I'll try messing around with it, and I'll come back if I get any more issues.

EDIT 2: That wasn't thought out.. I've already tried deleting the HeroChat folder.. And that still didn't work. Just tried again though, without any luck. I'm assuming you don't need the vanilla configuration so I'm going to leave the error report as before.

    Thank you!

That error is the result of a {color.COLOR} tag where COLOR isn't a recognized color. If you're updating from 2.7.2, your old configuration likely won't work - the format was changed a bit in 3.0.0. The vanilla configuration, however, does work; I just confirmed it. How are you getting the vanilla configuration? You should be removing yours and letting HeroChat generate one automatically.

    McAndze

Exactly what I did. Same thing happened. However, now that I know what is causing it, I can edit the file manually.

EDIT: Got it to work. HeroChat seemed to overwrite the vanilla config with the old config everytime I /reload'ed. Should've /ch reload'ed.

    Thanks for helping out!

We're using a custom version with fixed multi world support based of 3.0 of Permissions which has already removed .version.

Where are you getting Permissions 3.0?
