is bukkit server ready to use?

i am not a developer at all. i used hey0 but because of the update my server wont work, as you know. I want to use my server up and running again. it says that Bukkit it not finished yet, is it in beta? can i use the server yet? Why the fuck isn't it as easy to install this, as it was with hey0. I have know idea what the administrators instruction mean. Can some one please help me.

Chose a build, go to artifacts and download it's JAR.

 

You can use it via the link DerpinLlama posted, but unless you see a "Release Candidate" or "Beta" anywhere, its not meant for public consumption. Be warned if you do use it - you will experience bugs. I highly suggest becoming very active on these forums if you want to start using a Craftbukkit server.

 

okay so i have all the files, i set my server. props and all the files, but i dont a have a server to start. with hey0 i have Server_nogui_x64.bat to run. What do i use?

You need to make a .bat file to start the server. To do this, assuming your running windows, you create a new NotePad document and copy and paste either the 64 bit or 32 bit lines in the link above into the blank notepad document. Go to File, Save As, and name it Start.bat or something of that nature (make sure it has .bat after your name, then right below the name field, change the .txt to All Files and save it into the server folder. Make sure you change the name of the Craftbukkit .jar you downloaded to "craftbukkit.jar" (without the " ")
