A new CraftBukkit Recommended Build (1.3.1-R2.0) that provides Minecraft 1.3.1 compatibility is now available.

Important information about this Recommended Build:
This Recommended Build is merely a slightly more polished development build that we're promoting to a Recommended Build so that people who rely on a Recommended Build being available can try out our development builds and decide if they want to use them. We decided to promote another Recommended Build of this nature to address issues discovered in the first one.

Getting this Recommended Build out provides us with two advantages: it allows us to get a more stable build out for the community to use and it enabling us to unshackle our development efforts and start pushing experimental changes that we hope will significantly help out with Bukkit performance and stability which we'll be releasing in an upcoming Beta build.

    A note on Minecraft 1.3.2
As Minecraft 1.3.2 was primarily a bug fix release whose main purpose was to address an issue with travelling to and from the Nether and this issue is and was already fixed in Bukkit, there is no rush for us to update Bukkit to Minecraft 1.3.2. We'd rather focus on getting a stable, better performing Bukkit out first then work on updating Bukkit to the latest Minecraft update.

Will plugins break with this build?
Provided the developers of the plugins you are using are keeping up with the development of Bukkit, all your plugins should work fine.

For more detailed information on what is contained in this update, please see the changelog here.

Does this fix the invisible players glitch on big servers (100+)?

If you mean that issue with teleporting then NO, that's a issue in Minecraft not in bukkit. At the moment only spout can fix that.

So I noticed something that should be fixed with the next bukkit release. As of the current recommended build, sticky pistons (and possibly pistons) cannot push or pull rails of any kind. I have confirmed this to not be a bug in the normal minecraft code as it works both on single player and the 'vanilla' minecraft server software. Just some food for thought...

I've noticed that the 1.3.1 water suffocation bug is still in 1.3.1 R2.0. I get hurt when I'm in a corner with water, and one player has actually died from the glitch (on a small server one player death is too many :p ). I'm wondering if theres a dev build with a fix for this....

Great work btw, R2.0 fixed my server lagging itself into freezing every half an hour from R1.0. Can't wait to see those "expirimental changes" later :D

Weird cause I never get any server lag in either R1.0 or R2.0 but zombie fly mod thingy is still not working. I heard there is a fix?

Can you confirm this is fixed on a Minecraft 1.3.2 vanilla server please? I've gotten reports that it hasn't fixed that issue but I can't seem to reliably trigger it in 1.3.1 or 1.3.2, so I can't confirm if it has been fixed or not. This is despite running into the issue randomly when playing, too...

Update your client. When you log in you should be prompted to update.

No I mean if you get problems do force update and check that your client is on 1.3.2.

love the bukkit project. One thing that is absolutely puzzling me and I am picking up from reading some of the forums is the need for some of the addins. Examples are vault and bpermissions - apparently this functionlity is already part of craftbukkit. I hate having to keep plugins updated and have already moved away from some plugins as too clunky. As a suggestion. Please can you indicate on the plugins site if the plugin is duplicating native Craftbukkit functionality ? Possibly also indicate on the website - that we do not need this or this type of plugin as it is native to craftbukkit.

By the way - latest built running as smooth as:
10:38:04 [INFO] This server is running CraftBukkit version git-Bukkit-1.3.1-R2.0-23-g37a6cf0-b2350jnks (MC: 1.3.1) (Implementing API version 1.3.1-R2.1-SNAPSHOT

I have been more or less running the latest dev versions of craftbukiit eg - 10:38:04 [INFO] This server is running CraftBukkit version git-Bukkit-1.3.1-R2.0-23-g37a6cf0-b2350jnks (MC: 1.3.1) (Implementing API version 1.3.1-R2.1-SNAPSHOT
and beleive the upgrades have been worth it. Have not expereinced major problems although run a low load server and try and minimise my plugins at the moment. I guess the only big issue is if your users were used to using a spoutcraft client - it no longer runs so forced back to MC client.

Jesus... the bukkit team is doing a great job with craftbukkit and I never have such problems with it that you do. Dont expect you can run a minecraft server on your laptop/miniblathing or whatever you use... only because Minecraft does not have shaders and all doesn't mean that you can run it on anything. Its still a really heavy game that needs some power to run smooth (Network, Ram, CPU, GPU). Your errors there look more for me like a HDD fail, Virus or network problems, if you use Linux then check the permissions on the server folder.

For me it works fine and I cant complain ;)

IDK, if anyone already replied to your question above but here's how you SAFELY update. First Go to your start menu, then click or search "Run". Type this (with percents): %appdata% Then click .minecraft, then bin, then find a file named "minecraft.jar" Copy that to your desktop or another safe location, maybe even rename it for the time being. Then once the minecraft.jar is in a safe place, run minecraft, click options before logging in, then click "Force Update". Log in, it will download all the files for 1.3.2. Run the server in 1.3.1, then connect to it. IF there are severe bugs, all you have to do is put the minecraft.jar back in the bin folder, and redownload 1.2.5 server jar. Hope this helps. ;)

Tbh I've never had any lag problems except for the moved to fast thingy.
And I run it off my computer with no problems.time to time reload screws it up so I stoped using reload

    MyPictures

Yea /reload is a really buggy thing at the moment, much plugins have problems with it.

  26. Why the bukkit team doesnt remove the whole /reload command or add an warning "This command can cause memory leaks, are you sure you want to reload your server? /yes /no"

  27. Offline

    TnT

Because /reload itself isn't the problem (reloading a server without plugins will not cause any memory leaks). Some plugins simply cannot handle the /reload command without causing major issues. You can either ask plugin developers to fix their plugins, or you just avoid using /reload. I suggest to avoid its use.

  28. still it has really heavy ram usage

earlier versions - 1.2.5 was ok but now ......

    jacklin213

for example spoutplugin will crash on reload saying that it cant re-enchant a enchanted item.. blah blah blah

These guys here at Bukkit work their butts off and DO NOT need to be criticized for making a system to work a Minecraft server how Vanilla should be. I can bet you anything (spoke to EvilSeph on it) that these guys aren't slackers. If you think it is "easy" or "could be improved" then I would like to see you try. Wait until 1.4 comes out and watch the sheer speed they push out a new build! Yes it may be a Dev build but still. So before you come running and complaining, you should see the quality and speed that these Bukkit Devs produce.
