Plugin category: Mechanic Alternating Suggested name: PvpForOne (Don't care about the name you can call it whatever) What I want: I'd like to see a plugin which allows an area to be designated as a one on one combat only (single way combat). As we all know you can get teamed up on minecraft and it gets frustrating when you are one against the world. This plugin should work with world edit which will allow you to select an area to be this special area. The plugin should works like this: when one player just hit another player and the player that is being hit and running away is not allowed to get hurt by anyone else than the original player that hit him other attackers should receive a message "this player is already in combat" . Unless the running player manages to escape a timer should go off which will make the running player once again available to be attacked by anyone. OK so you find this still hard to understand?! Then read this: Player A decided to go pvping outside of the west side of the spawn. Spawn is a squared shaped therefore has four sides. As he walks into the west side he enters the single combat zone. He meets player B and C. Player B attacks player A; which runs away from him (player A). Then Player C also decides to run after player A; however Player B already engaged in combat with player A by attacking him while they were both running. So while player C tries to deal damage to player A he can't as a message in chat tells him: "this player is already in combat". However in the adrenaline rush Player A runs into the north side of outside of the spawn and finds him self in a multiway combat zone AKA normal pvp that we find in minecraft, where player B and C can attack player A. Simple?! Ideas for commands: select an area via world edit then for example: /region define 1v1. Ideas for permissions: admin.1v1. Set it to true to use the command When I'd like it by: 7th of September 2012. bump is this possible to make? EDIT by Moderator: merged posts, please use the edit button instead of double posting.
No sir, like an area where you can have a fair fight but as soonest as you leave that area you can get attacked by everyone at the same time. bump made more clear bump EDIT by Moderator: merged posts, please use the edit button instead of double posting.
He is allowed to bump his thread if he wants. mbaxter said: ''I don't think there's a set time, it's just rude to constantly bump a thread.''
Woobie I have said it in my last post however not many people understood what I was going for hence I made this detailed post. bump EDIT by Moderator: merged posts, please use the edit button instead of double posting.
I think a better way to put this would be, If Player 1 is fighting Player 2, Player 3 can't attack them?
party Exactly what I meant but only in a special designated area not everywhere. Angry I think this would be an essential plugin for 80% of minecraft pvp server so good luck!
Please wait 12 hours to bump again. Lets do the math 11 - 4 = 7 hours . You have to wait another 5 hours.
No, you're allowed to bump -- But not excessively. And you're not allowed to bump twice within 12 hours. Try to wait for someone to respond instead of bumping.
Please do-not, bump so often. ONLY bump when a significant time has passed or has gone over page 5. and significant is 12 hours.
Right, I'm not sure I'd be able to make it just for one area, as opposed to the entire map. I can get you the version for the entire map within a few days, but it would take a bit longer to link it up to WorldEdit.
well i am sure that if you release entire map 1v1 plugin you might be able to engage with the authors of world edit and they might take the idea on board
... I highly doubt that. First, WorldEdit is for world editing... Maybe you're thinking WorldGuard? Either way, it's not something that anyone except a rare few would want, so I really doubt they'd take it on. AngryNerd: You can hook into WorldGuard -- Never done it, but I don't think it's too difficult. But you need to reference WorldGUARD, not WorldEdit.
Well worldguard is used for all the region when worldedit is for selecting area there is no need to hook into worldguard when you can have your own plugin. Also when you are expecting to have a large pvp server it would be very handy since you will most time get teamed up by 5 people while you have no one to back you up hence this is an option for all the lone wolfs out there.
Yet that's a big part of PvP for lots of servers. Are you asking for the WorldEdit selection method or a flag for WorldGuard (no-pvp-team)?
if you make a plugin for flags this will make sure that the plugin will stay updated however if just a flag is added by someone who isn't an author, may be taken down because it's an use of their work without of their permission. The best way of making this would be getting the actual authors to add this as a flag however I am sure they are quiet busy; however I have still proposed an idea.
You are talking about exactly the right thing This is complete rubbish. What np98765 is talking about is hooking into the API that is made for specifically this purpose. It will not get blocked or whatever you are thinking about. WorldGuard can have flags added by ANY, i repeat ANY plugin Thanks Zackpollard
Thank you for helping clarify. Looks like my response got a Server Timed Out error... Kind of annoying. -_-
No, as some of the other users have explained, you would need to hook into WorldEdit, seeing as it handles region selections. I'm just daying it might take me a while to do, as I'm new to plugin development.
