    Can we please have an admin/mod to ban this little prepubescent kid that is not even helping/contributing to the point of thread.

    Having the same problem, at first I thought it was a player issue but I'm seeing most of my players getting a whole bunch of errors before dcing. It's a Bukkit bug right?

    Spikey

    Yes - It is either a craftbukkit problem or a plugin being incompatible.

    Do you have backupplugin as well? Can you list your plugins?

    BTW Guys still no crashes or extreme "cant keep ups" with backupplugin removed.

    If I crash I am going to attempt 493, i was reading through craftbukkit changes and one of them made note of an attempt to fix console crashes. I believe 529. If someone wants to give 493 a shot feel free, might take awhile for me considering these crashes arent happening yet for me and it might take awhile and I am going to bed for the night/morning soon.

    xeology, why reply with an inslut? it only leads to your infraction ;)

    Now, have you even tried removing all plugins? Because I sort of thought you tried that since is a pretty essential thing to try, but from all the talk about backup plugin, you didn't. Or did I misread you?

    You misread him ;) as he said on page 1. but I guess pinpointing this to one plugin seems to help or maybe it affects you only when you have plugins ?.

    I run 493 and have since the day it came out... my server has been so stable I havent seen a reason to upgrade.

    I removed the backupplugin and it fixed the problem.

    xeology

    Likewise. No backupplugin = No crashes for me yet. If it happens again I go 493.
    [MERGETIME="1300039163"][/MERGETIME]
    Because its children like that that ruin good shit like this.
    [MERGETIME="1300039204"][/MERGETIME]
    And I have to many plugins to go one at a time, it takes WAY to long with how infrequent crashes are, it would literaly take me a month to figure it out.

    Well problem changed now I keep getting time outs at random occasions.
    symptons:
    Lagg spikes then everyone time out.

    I would suggest 493 then. I am bumping my restarts up to 12h from 3h and see if I run into issues. If so I will be doing the same.

    Read up on binary search then ;) Never repaired a lightbulb on an old christmas tree?

    this is an unacceptable solution, People donate to keep this server up. People just need to identify their plugin as the problem and admit it as the issue. The second I find the issue I will NEVER use that authors plugins again and will make 100% sure it is posted as the cause of these issues. It would be like me mkaing mukkit delete permissions files then strait out deny it does it!

    Back to square one with no backupplugin and running 493, same issues.

    It's not a solution, but because they pay you, you should be able to find the bad plugin fast (binary search) instaed of one-by-one.

    I am not saying that it is your fault or that you should not ask for help or anyhting like it.
    I'm just saying that you should try to eliminate the bad plugin immediately (and using binary search it is quite fast) to make the server work.

    can you find the authors of your plugins? I am going to see if any of the authors are the same in any of our plugins. From there I will start removing plugins by author to see if that resolves the issue here.

    ill look into it, what does it do?
    [MERGETIME="1300050197"][/MERGETIME]
    can i get a link for that as well?
    [MERGETIME="1300050771"][/MERGETIME]
    God looking at this it seems like something I would have to program in myself. However I do not know java.

    This is insane. so far this issue affects 493-539 and affects people who have no plugins as well as many! WTF? Is bukkit broken?

    Ugh, image a christmas tree. Imagin that the lights go off because one of the bulbs is gone. How do you find the bulb? They are colkored so you do not see inside them to check the wire.
    You can take the bulbs one by one and test them in a tester, but with 100 bulbs that would be pretty bad.
    So you take the tester and test the first half of the bulb chain. If its ok, the bad one is in the other half. So you take half of the other half... and so on...

    So what mean is, when you have a plugin misbehaving you just remove half of them to test where the bad one is and do that for a few rounds and you have it pretty fast.

    This is not an option because the crashes are so completely random it is impossible to tell if it is fixed or not, it could take 1 hour to 2 days to see if it is fixed or not and right when you think it is it crashes again. And looking at everyone elses case at this point it simply HAS to be bukkit. So now my questions is what can I do besides go back to hmod?

  28. Offline

    Plague

    I still think it is a plugin, so either invest the time to test it, like I said, or go back to hMod I guess.

    Of course wait here for some enlightened soul that magically knows the answer is a parallel thing to do :)

    I dont understand it can be a plugin when NONE of us besides two of us (which I already tested without the similar plugins and still crashed) have similar plugins and one has none at all besides the bukkit plugins (scrapbukkit etc etc) yet we ALL share the SAME EXACT issue.

    Plague

    By that logic you could say that 99% of people using bukkit do nat have this problem, ergo you do not see it is a bukkit problem ;)

    Maybe those plugins are not similar but use a technique that causes that in combination with many other factors, like connection, OS, java version, etc.
