With the Minecraft 1.3 release date fast approaching, a lot of people are wondering when we will be releasing a CraftBukkit Recommended Build for Minecraft 1.3. We hope this short announcement will answer those questions.

Due to the size of the impending 1.3 update, we are unable to guarantee that we'll have a compatible CraftBukkit Recommended Build out in time for the release of Minecraft 1.3. Although we started working on the update immediately after the Minecraft 1.3 preview was made available to the public, a lot of things were added, removed and changed in Minecraft from 1.2.5 and, as such, this update requires more work than usual to get things up and running. That being said, we'll continue to do our best to get an update out within a reasonable amount of time and will likely follow our usual policy of promoting the first Recommended Build the moment we get something that compiles and runs without any testing done whatsoever.

As we have done a significant amount of important work on CraftBukkit 1.2.5 builds since our last RB, we'll be promoting a new Recommended Build shortly. This is done so that people have a reliable, stable build to use until we can get a 1.3 compatible build out and so that everyone who relies on Recommended Builds are able to take advantage of all the fixes, improvements and so on we've done since the last 1.2.5 RB.

Thank you for your patience, understanding and continued support; we greatly appreciate it!

  2. Just play hardcore single player for a day or two. It will make you realize how much you suck at minecraft with all the wonderful aids bukkit provides. Vanilla is still a fun game. We can all get back to SMP Bukkit later. Patch days are always a fun return to summer of 2010 for me.

I vote to IP ban all the impatient ingrates on here, that have the nerves to post complaint messages on here demanding for the impossible because their 'Server' have awaiting players. Using Fireswap as the perfect example, he should be IP ban from http://dl.bukkit.org/downloads/craftbukkit/ to never download any build in the future. As Bukkit is allowed to do such thing anyways, since it's a free public service.

Why is that it should be open to the public.

Hey BukkitDev guys, I just wanted to stop in and say "Thanks for all the unpaid, exceptional hard work you guys put forth." You have no idea how much many of us appreciate what you do and how much we enjoy the worlds our users build on the product you've made.

You're exceptional! Keep up the great work and don't let the people who freak out every patch bother you... for every one of them there are a dozen of us who DO understand your contributions. We're just the quiet majority :)

    Thanks again!

Yes, they do what they do well. They are so open about what they do... I think someday I'd like to do something in this field. Currently I work in an IT Dept. we run 30 buildings and just installed fiber optic through frontier and have 100mbps and voice over IP's are going in now so we're busy... I do some basic scripting but coding haven't even looked at minus some basic PHP and HTML. I'd love to see what happens behind the scenes here.

I agree completely with you, but it wouldn't stop anyone from downloading it, just like nothing stops me from playing a game that's rated M, nor did it when I was younger. On the internet you can always falsify your birth date.

Can all you complaining little kids, who use their parents' credit cards to pay for their server hosting just GTFO? Learn PATIENCE. I wish there were more adults in MC land, on every server it's mostly kids, 14-15 years old max. I won't be letting any snotty nosed, ungrateful, impatient little oiks on my server! Kids are ruining Minecraft. I commend the Bukkit Team for putting up with them. You really, really shouldn't!

The sad thing is, if you really get out there and meet some of the people, some of the worst, most entitled people, are not the 13 year old children you would assume them to be based on the "high quality" of their posts... but rather people who are old enough that they should definitely know better.

If they IP banned not only would this be a political nightmare for Bukkit but it wouldn't stop anyone from getting it. It's hosted off so many mirrored servers and MCMYADMIN and MultiCraft automaticly add it for some. They'd just have to wait an extra day unlike us to get it :). Terrible idea.

Whoa, TnT got admin status? Did that happen within this thread? Heh... I was all argumentative and... shtuff. With a newly appointed admin? Shame on me!

It's nice to see the mood has shifted from frustration to cheery and defensive now. Bet it's a load off the staff/devs. I'm working on a wallpaper right now for you guys out of appreciation. And I promise it doesn't have any mules in thongs in it.

    heres what i see:

PPL WHO YELL AT BUKKIT STAFF IN ALL CAPS: you guys are idiots and need to stfu

Bukkit fanboys who need smirks slapped off: you guys are not helping this get any better with bashing bukit bashers and are pouring lighter fluid everywhere

To Bukkit: Good luck going thru notches spaghetti code, and maybe you guys could shut up the fanboys by making even and balanced responses to the poor bastards that run servers (who are very stressed too, and who also spend many many hours tireless running servers and writing code). you guys could even cut and paste the same response to each new person who asks "Derp patch Derp?" and it would be far less offensive than these fanboys.

There's that certain feel of entitlement people get. It all leads to greed and this overwhelming "want" for something they don't really need nor deserve. This entitlement gets the best of them and they just turn into selfish, under-appreciative jerk offs.
