How often dose a server need restarted?

I own a server with
10-30 people on at anytime.
I have 24 Plugins.
My host is Beastnode (ZombieServer)
How often should I restart the server?

 

This isn't really a question that anybody other than you or your members can answer. I restart my server every 6 hours, you'll have to test to see what works for you.

 

I restart mine every 8 hours But I have a backup If anything goes wrong

 

When I had a server I restarted it at 11pm before I went to sleep and backed it up, then join in the morning to see if it's griefed or bugged, then I restore the backup.

 

But what if a player has made a house then or if someone put diamonds in their chest :/

 

That did become the issue at one time, so I got LogBlock and rolled back the griefed areas. And anyways I gave them their items back, etc...

I'm assuming you want to restart frequently because of griefing issues? Personally, I run the GriefPrevention plugin on my servers, so it's pretty much impossible to grief anything, with rarely-needed targetted rollback as simple as a right click. As a result, I leave my server up for more than a week at a time and don't worry about it. You should look into it, I think it's a million times better than all those logging/rollback and other anti grief plugins.

If I'm wrong and you're having a crashing problem, it may be a good idea to post a separate thread with the specifics of your problem (error messages on crash?) so we can help you resolve it. Chances are it's a common problem that someone here can give you an answer to.

 

I restart mine about 70 - 200 times a day. I guess its up to you really.

 

i never restart, unless people notice lagg and i would give a restart a try

 

I restart mine about once a day, usually when everybody is offline in the middle of the night that's when I have scheduled tasks that do all the work.
