I just realized that if you compile this with the same version of Java as the performance monitor I won't be able to use this Dx

As you obviously had problems installing the latest java version over SSH, try removing the older versions first and then getting the new versions. Maybe this guide could help you out? http://www.if-not-true-then-false.c...java-jdk-jre-7-on-fedora-centos-red-hat-rhel/

No worries, I just had to ask since I was installing it on request by someone who is unable to update the java version of the server he uses. Not everyone uses new language constructs and it could've been something easily done :)

    Thanks for the fast reply.

Java 5 is 8 years old, why can't he get at least java 6? And I thought Bukkit required Java 6.

As certain functions of my plugins ain't supported by java versions below 7 I'm unable to do this at the moment as I don't want to spend time on things I will change within the next updates due to new main features :)
Check back in the nearest future and I'll see if I can provide download for both java 5 and 6 as well.

Lol, Looks like you have both java versions installed but your server is using java 6 :p
    See if this helps http://www.rndblog.com/how-to-switch-java-in-centos/

Can't do much but agree, haven't used java 5 in a VERY long time lol :p

Damn where do you get all of these tutorials from xD I can never find any on google!

There are 2 programs which provide 'java'.
    Selection Command
    -----------------------------------------------
    *+ 1 /usr/lib/jvm/jre-1.6.0-openjdk.x86_64/bin/java
    2 /usr/lib/jvm/jre-1.4.2-gcj/bin/java
Enter to keep the current selection[+], or type selection number:

But... It doesn't list Java 7 but it is installed! Aghhhh

Edit: This may be for the JRE not the JDK? That is the only thing I can think of.

I have epic google skills, that's why! :D
(nah, just google'd "switch java version centos")

My centos skills ain't as stong as my google skills so I'm not sure about that issue. Maybe something simple as a restart could do? :)

I'm gonna try to install the JRE, is there any difference performance-wise between the JDK and JRE? :p

    Will try that next

JRE is a bit smaller than JDK but I wouldn't say there is any difference performance-wise, if so, very slight :p

Installed the JRE, and it still is not showing up, then I rebooted, still not showing -_-

Strange. As plotguardian is under development and new features are soon to be added the dev version is unstable (not yet public), therefore I cannot recompile version 1.3 with JDK6. I managed to recompile Performance Monitor using JDK6 though, see if it works. DropBox <-- mediafire didn't want to upload :)

Haha! You got version 7 working now? Does the plugins work?

Thanks all for the comments, made me go and re-verify. The server runs Java 6, the plugin needs Java 7 ;) For some reason my memory was under the assumption that 51.0 was supposed to be read as "1.50". It's not.

I compile my own plugin for Java 6, but then, I don't use any of the newer constructs.

I will first of all release my plugins for the newest version of java, that's my top priority. Once that version is released I will release a version supporting JDK6. In the case of my performance monitor plugin I only had to replace a switch-case and a diamond operator for it to work properly with JDK6 so I'll release that one very soon.

    Edit:
And in the case of this plugin I will first release the new version as the source code is messy and new features are only partly-implemented, I state this as a unstable version at the moment :)

The plot names is really odd, all I can seem to get away with is calling them "plot1, plot2.. ... plot11" anything else it does not like, strange no? Maybe its my WorldGuard settings?

Please reading the description and usage guide before posting, all of this is covered in the first post and the names can be changed in the provided config, but has to follow a format (word with a number behind it).

is this the same thing as plot me?

    ZachBora

No, plotme needs a new world, generates the plots for you and doesn't require worldguard. This one allows you to use your existing world, but you have to create the plots.

    MsHax085

No, plotme is more of a worldgenerator which generate all plots for you. This plugin was intended for use in a already generated world, this means you can choose the size, place and put the plots where ever you want.

    Edit:
    Lol, nice timing ZachBora :)

I did read the description in full, perhaps I am misunderstanding the description:

"Use any plot names you like as long as it follows the format (a word with a number behind)"

Does this not suggest that, for example, "1name", "2name" "3hello" would all be fine? You say a number behind the word, to me this suggests my example.

    By behind he means after.

    MsHax085

It seels like you misunderstood the format. I did say you must put a number behind the word and that's fully correct. Example: plot12 (a word and then a number after).
To change the word 'plot' you must edit the config and this cannot be done while the plugin is running.

Thanks for the clarification! To be honest I didn't bother looking in the config as it worked out-of-the-box, if I had I may have noticed the actual syntax/format.

Maybe the original post could be a bit clearer, just a suggestion, otherwise it is a nice simple plugin. But I want to point out that I did have some issues with it and had to remove it, it seemed to be conflicting with WorldGuard or something (I am still not sure) as I would create plots using PlotGuardian and whilst the plots worked perfectly inside them (such as giving membership to a player, they were able to build inside absolutely fine) it was anywhere outside the plots my standard players could not build outside of the plots even though WorldGuard settings were at default, and then tried __global__ build:true, construct:true, etc etc (tried a lot of different settings combinations), no matter what I tried having PlotGuardian seemed to force permissions on players even outside of the plot regions which you would think it would have no control/effect over.

I can't be sure it was PlotGuardian's fault for the problem, I know every servers different so there could have been conflicting problems in my particular combination of plugins - but anyway, just a heads up maybe others may have experienced this and hopefully they would of better pinpointed the issue.

Are you sure you read the config? The config has a full guide and tell you exactly what ever option does and among those you can disable protection outside the protected plots. One of the goals with my plugins is to make them as customizable and easy to use as possible, therefore you can basically turn off or on any option it offers. The protection outside the plots has nothing to do with WorldGuard.

    Version 1.4 released!
This update contains the economy update which a few of you have requested before. For the economy I'm using vault which must be added to your server if you want to use this feature. If you do not want to use the economy feature the plugin will work completelly fine without adding vault, just by disabling economy in the config (disabled by default).

The update has been taking a little while as I haven't been into it a lot, mostly I've been doing other things but now when the new version of bukkit came out I decided to finish up the features I've already added and upload it. This version does NOT include the final features for the economy, those will be added later on when it's confirmed that this version works as it should :)

I have been running the new update on my own server for quite a while and fixed a few bugs, I will also run it on my public server and see if I can find any more bugs. Please report any bugs you find and also what you think about the new updates, what I shall change etc.

When downloading the new update it's strongly recommended to read the installation guides and notices provided as some things are essential and others are not.
