to find out your internal ip open cmd(command prompt) and type in "ipconfig/all"
look for the IPv4 address THIS IS YOUR INTERNAL ADDRESS
your external address can b found at http://whatismyip.org/
or plainly just typing "whats my ip" on google

to test if your ports are working this is the site made to test out ports like minecraft
    http://www.ipfingerprints.com/portscan.php
paste your external ip into the slot n put the ports as 25565
CLICK ON ADVANCE AND TURN PING TYPE TO "DONT PING"
if it works it should say
    Host is up.
    PORT STATE SERVICE

    25565/tcp open minecraft
    or the STATE will say
    Host is up.
    PORT STATE SERVICE

    25565/tcp filtered minecraft

the service is what your named your ports to b

If you using a Home based server. Odds are, you Host computer is running off your Local IP address. You will need to acquire your WAN IP, which is your IP that is used for others to connect to. If they are within your router, they can use your Local IP, otherwise give them the WAN IP, located here http://www.mywanip.com/

    Nothing in server.properties.
Port 25565 forwarded to your local IP (the one starting with 192.168 probably) on your router.
Give other players your external IP which you can find on whatismyip.org.

You could use port map, thats a port forwarding program, but you also could manually port forward

    Ok, dont use hamachi.

Find out what router you have, what your internal ip is, and your external ip is.

And report back here with the info

    You have a Linksys router.

    Search 192.168.0.2 in Safari.

Fill out the username and password, and report back
