Hello, I just have got a small question that I did not find much about on google.
I am currenlty running my bukkit server with java6 and wonder if I should upgrade to java 7.
What are the benefits, do I have to modify my startscript and will all plugins still work properly ?

You would have to change the RUN.bat file. As far as I have heard java 7 is not as compatible with servers.

He is right about changing the RUN.bat file (assuming you host from a Windows machine).

I run java 7 on my tiny machine and its fine, Java 6 is cool too.
    What ever floats your boat.

There are some speed optimizations especially in the garbage collection area of java, so the server could run better than on java 6

So I just install java 7 and then remove java 6 and run my server?

Java 7 works better in some cases. There have been some small improvements in that iteration of the JVM
