After a few hours of running my server, the server starts to lag. To fix it, I turn it off for 5-20 minutes. After that, the lag would be fixed, but it would come right back in 5-10 minutes. I play on the laptop the server is hosted on and it is a hamachi server. I have a 32 bit Window XP laptop (Version 2002; SP 3). My craftbukkit build is "1.2.5-R1.0". It also spams [WARNING] Can't keep up, did the system time change or is the server overloaded? I play with about 2-8 people at a time on my server and this is my run.bat info: Code: @ECHO OFF SET BINDIR=%~dp0 CD /D "%BINDIR%" "%ProgramFiles%\Java\jre6\bin\java.exe" -Xmx1375M -Xms1375M -jar craftbukkit.jar PAUSE The plugins I use are: lockette mcMMO BKCommonLib Essentials EssentialsSpawn Lockette Timber So is there any way to fix this?
Hamachi can run at most 4 people without lagging. The only way to get more and not have lag is to make it non-hamachi.
Do you have any sources that state this? I also can't portforward because I dont know my firewall password. What?
No, I just have tested on one that I hosted and others that others hosted and 9.5 times out of 10, it is true.
A) not alot of dedicated server RAM for server to use. B) Internet speed is slow Ie: Download Speed and upload Speed C) Hamachi cant handle more than 5 people and thus laggs out, some times less
A) The problem is I can't add more RAM. B) I dont know my download/upload speed. C) I can't portforward.
www.speedtest.net Try places nearby. then make a note of it then try places like asia (Philippines is the best, slow internest speed as in a snail slow cant even open up google) Then make a note of it. post it here
San Jose, CA: Download: 0.80 Mbps Upload: 0.13 Mbps San Francisco, CA: Download: 2.47 Mbps Upload: 0.33 Mbps Palo Alto, CA: Download: 2.54 Mbps Upload: 0.36 Mbps Modesto, CA: Download: 2.75 Mbps Upload: 0.20 Mbps Angeles, PH: Download: 1.60 Mbps Upload: 0.24 Mbps
That is your issue. The issue is not Hamachi, but instead your upload speed. That is VERY SLOW and could host at most 4 people.
Or just rent a pre-made Minecraft server, VPS or dedicated server... Would be far cheaper, faster and reliable.
The problem went away and there has been no lag. I have done nothing to fix my problem, all it did was go away. So this thread is SOLVED
