I won't port LogBlock myself to mcAPI. Source code is available, so it shouldn't be to difficult for someone else to do it, also I'm still here. so I can answer questions. If there is more than one willing, that's up to you to handle that.

The reasons I take this step, are the usual: I quit playing Minecraft about 5 months ago and lastly I was struggling to keep up with updates. The developement of Guardian made slow progress, so I fear it won't be ready to fully replace LB in time.

    Description:

LogBlock logs block changes into a MySQL database. Block changes can be placed or destroyed block, explosions, burned blocks, sign text changes, chest access, leaves decay etc.
It can be used as griefer identification tool, to find out who build a particular building, or even roll back changes by certain players. Other purposes can be e.g: Undoing of forest fires
All additional features are optional, to keep the database as short as possible. All database actions run in their own threads to avoid server lags.
The use of permissions plugin (or any clone) is possible, but not necessary.
Uses Spout for chest logging (but it's fully optional, and there is no need for the client mod at all).

    Features:
    • Logging for block placing, block braking, fire, explosions, leaves decay, signtexts, lava flow and chest content
    • Very mighty commands system, not only allowing to rollback and redo, but also to tp to blockchanges, delete log ingame etc. Full list of commands.
    • Many parameters for lookup/rollback/redo/tp/clearlog commands: Block changes of one ore more player, in a specific area, in a world edit selection, specific block types only, block changes older or newer that a specific date, destroyed/created block only, in a different world and combinations of all these parameters. Full list of parameters.
    • Rebuilding map after importing a backup (/lb redo)
    • Last parameter to use the parameters of the last command
    • Quick ingame lookup of block history a wood pickaxe or a bedrock block.
    • All commands accessible from console (exept tools :D)
    • Custom queries for tools.
    • Different tool modes (lookup, rollback, redo, writelogfile and clearlog)
    • Saves block data like wool color, log type, torch adjustment, etc
    • Multiworld and multiserver support (some servers sharing the same database)
    • BigBrother log import
    • Loggable super pickaxe plugin (not to confuse with WorldEdit's super pickaxe)
    • API
    • Webstats
    Why to use LogBlock:

Example commands: (thanks to tha d0ctor, read more about commands here)

/lb rollback player fire since 1d3h – rolls back fire 1 day 3 hours
/lb rollback player fire since 1d3h area 15 – rolls back fire 1 day 3 hours within a radius of 15 blocks

    /lb rollback player thad0ctor since 1h - rolls back thad0ctor 1 hour
/lb rollback player thad0ctor since 1d area 5 – rolls back thad0ctor actions for the last day within 5 blocks
/lb rollback area 10 since 1h30m - rolls back all modifications within 10 blocks since the list 1 hours and 30 mins
/lb rollback area 10 before 06.11.2011 - roll back all changes in an area of 1o before June 11th, 2011
/lb rollback player thad0ctor since 05:36:00 - roll back all changes of thad0ctor since 05:36 (server time)

    How to post error messages:

I won't aswer questions to general MySQL setup/installation/what is MySQL (there are lots of good tutorials out there, use google)
Please read the installation guide before asking a question about installation problems.
Please read the FAQ before posting a error report. It may be solved there.
In case of rollback or lookup problems: Type /lb savequeue and try again (when it's fixed then, it was a consumer problem, see FAQ)
When you post error messages, it's important to paste the whole stack trace!

It looks like php is disabled at your web server.
    /lb logging
    /lb savequeue
Get a local MySQL server, if possible.
Auto updater fail: Set version in config to '1.51'.
Make sure you are runnging the latest dev build.
If it doesn't help, disable logging.playerInfo in main config.

Setting it back to '1.51' (although the version I use is 1.52?) seems to have helped - no Java errors anymore when users disconnect. Thanks, DiddiZ!

If your SQL-Server dont support external connection than you dont have any way to connect. Try to set up an local SQL Server with XAMPP or something.

Yup, you need to enable remote access:
Edit the mysql config, remove the line skip-networking (if present) and set bind-address to the ip of your mc server. Make sure no firewall is blocking port 3306.
    Add a remote database user:
    GRANT ALL ON minecraft.* TO 'minecraft'@'ip of your mc server' IDENTIFIED BY 'password';

Hi DiddiZ , It seems that on the latest dev build of LogBlock, it doesn't matter what permissions set up you use, if anyone gets their hands on a piece of bed rock, it can be used as a look up tool - even if they have no permission nodes for logblock whatsoever.

Quick question for everyone: does the latest dev build of LB work with 1.2.3?

My issue seems to be that when I go to rollback someone, and it asks me to confirm with /yes, it doesn't accept /yes as a command. nor does it accept /lb yes, or /lb /yes. Can someone help?

hey i know this is a stupid question, but is the plugin being updated to 1.2.3?
before i get yelled at i hhave no idea what mcAPI is so i realize this would be obvious if i knew
im assuming mcAPI is the new minecraft official API jeb is working on so does that mean no update to 1.2.3 from the actual developer?

Inside the plugins/LogBlock/config.yml, under the tool and toolblock sub headings there is
    Code:
    permissionDefault: 'TRUE'

Change this to 'FALSE' for both tool and toolblock and this will remove default permissions given to use /lb tool or /lb toolblock, and only people with the specific permission or server op will be able to access it.

    *facepalm*

Is it really that hard to either A. try it yourself or B. read through the last 5 pages of this thread, where it has all the answers?

Don't be too hard, Fredski. I think zack actually had a fairly educated post. It surely was far more positive than those "this doesn't work, please fix" type of messages we seem to get here. zack - I also was a bit confused by the first message's info. But let me say, atm the plugin is alive and kicking. When it comes to mcAPI, that will be a Big Unknown for most of us, so no one really knows what will happen then.

But as of now, LogBlock is working well with 1.2.3!

Just take the loglblock.spawnTools permissions from your players
You have to change x and z columns data type:

I have it basically everything works but you just can't see who broke what even using the tools :/

So to sum it up it's compatible to the point of not being able to look at the logs.

    What? No ...
Try /lb logging and /lb savequeue
Then you need to install at your computer
    Yup, dev builds

What I don't get is I only played with a few options in the 'world'.yml and this started happening. I haven't done any updates to any of my plugins to the 1.1-R3 server of mine. The version is set to 1.51. Setting logPlayerInfo: false seemed to work. Weird though. However, on a separate server, I dropped lb-players and it seems to fix it as well.

I also have the problem that Logblock just doesn't log. If I do /lb logging everything looks fine, but it isn't logging. My server got griefed and I can't undo it now :/ Also I set forceToProcessAtLeast to 1000. The Database is external. But before 1.2 everything was perfect.

I read in the thread before but I couldn't find an answer, so please reply :)
